Jill West & Blues Attack - The Band

Jill West and Blues Attack, a Pittsburgh based blues band play their own style of hard edged blues with a guitar blast, in the tradition of the Vaughn brothers, B. B. King, and Muddy Waters. Lead by the dynamic vocals of Miss Jill West, Blues Attack has been igniting audiences all over the tri-state area as well as opening for many national acts. With the lightning lead guitar of Gregg Krupa, the incredibly creative keyboard playing of Sudden Steve Binsberger , and the thundering rhythm section of Nick Crano on drums and Hank Raffetto on bass, Blues Attack is a band to be reckoned with!!!

Jill West - Lead vocals

Gregg Krupa - Lead guitar and vocals

Gregg Krupa has been singing and playing the blues for almost 25 years. A native of Wexford, he started playing guitar at the age of 13. After high school he went straight into the Pittsburgh bar scene where he learned the ins and outs of the buisness he would work in his whole life.

He's played countless bars and one night stands working on his craft, appeared numerous times at the Pittsburgh Blues Festival, Carnegie Music Festival and Blues Fest North as well as performing on the Gateway Clipper Blues Cruise. He's opened for National Acts such as John Mayall and the Bluesbreakers, Buckwheat Zydeco, Sonny Landreth, Chris Duarte, Joe Bonnamassa and Cory Harris.

While some have compared him to Stevie Ray Vaughan and others say he reminds them of Eric Clapton, Gregg's true talents shine when he's playing an original composition and he can draw on his full talent to entertain and sometimes even amaze his audiences.

"Sudden" Steve Binsberger - Keyboards

Born in the suburbs outside of Philadelphia, Steve started his musical career at age 5 when his parents bought him his first keyboard (a tiny 27 key Emenee organ). He would play that for hours driving his parents crazy. At 8yrs old he started playing the accordion and banging away at an old player piano. He got a taste of performing in bars at age 13 and spent many years honing his craft by playing in several “garage bands” around the Philadelphia area.

Finally, while attending Penn State University, he met Billy Price. Steve spent many years on the road playing Blues and R&B with Pittsburgh great Billy Price and the Keystone Rhythm Band. He left Billy Price and went back to school to continue his education and later joined local band 8 th Street Rox performing in and around Pittsburgh for some 22 years. Recently, wanting to get back to his blues roots, he joined Jill West and Blues Attack.

You can find his playing on several albums and CD’s from Billy Price, Bill Toms and Hard Rain, Jimmy Adler, Joe Gruscheky and the House Rockers, as well as other local bands.

Nick Crano - Drums

Hank "3 fingers lefty" Raffetto - Bass Guitar

Born in Ellwood City, PA, Hank Raffetto got his early music education on sax and drums. While in trade school for Drafting and Construction, he "found the blues" while attending shows featuring Muddy Waters, John Lee Hooker, Albert Collins, the Nighthawks and the Fabulous T-birds. This led him into playing bass guitar and forming the band No Money Down.

While running a blues bar named The Ellton (which was later tragically destroyed), Hank helped form The Hellhounds with Don Hollowood. With the addition of Jill West, Blues Attack was born.

In 1995, Hank created The 'Get Off My Case Company', which builds custom traveling cases for touring bands and sound companies. The rest is history in the making!
